Assistance Breeder (m/f/d) in the field of Experimental Hybrids in Sugar Beet

We are seeking for Assistance Breeder (m/f/d) in area of Experimental Hybrids in Sugar Beet focusing on efficient sugar beet seed productions.

The position is permanent and full-time based in the headquarter of KWS SAAT SE & Co. KGaA in Einbeck, Germany

Your field of activity - challenge meets responsibility

• Coordinate planning of productions of competitive sugar beet varieties for worldwide use except North America on level of experimental hybrids incl. downstream processing
• Coordinate breeding seed productions in Europe being the interface with breeding stations and breeders
• Optimize breeding seed productions through methodical trials meeting breeder’s requests
• Work in an international team of breeders, assistance and breeding stations to create efficiently successful varieties
• Support in optimizations of hybrids like defining target product profiles, improving selections, etc.

Bring in your potential:

• Completed university degree in agricultural science, horticulture or related area (B.Sc./M.Sc.) with focus on plant breeding
• Strong knowledge in plant breeding incl. use of molecular markers
• Experience in sugar beet breeding is a plus
• Very strong communicative, organizational skills and excellent team player
• Reliable, independent and trustable mode of working
• Very good knowledge in MS Office applications, i.e. Excel und Access, ideally first experiences with breeding software
• Fluency in English is mandatory, good knowledge of German is an advantage
• Willingness to travel (up to 15 %) in Germany and outside mainly Italy and France
• Driver’s license class B is prerequisite
